Maths Revision & Headstart Program

Our course structure for each program:

  • Between 1 hour and 55-minutes to 2 hour lessons per course, every day for 5 days. Please check our timetable for course running dates.

Exam Power Series: Vital English Skills for Exam Success

Develop vital English skills to achieve exam success in high school. Topics discussed include:

  • Essential language skills
  • Reading and writing for purpose
  • Planning and writing narrative
  • Understanding poetry
  • Developing arguments in poetry and prose
Exam Power Series: Effective Poetry & Essay Writing Skills

Develop a range of skills from research to essay writing, including the application of this thinking to other subjects and exam preparation. Topics discussed include:

  • Effective note-taking and summarizing
  • Fundamental rules of essay-writing
  • Essay writing – refining our skill
  • Research skills, Poetry Skills
  • Examination of Essay Writing
Exam Power Series: Assessment & Exam Genre Writing

Develop genre writing skills by focusing on eight key genres: lecturette, speech, news article, op-ed, letter to the editor, interview and radio discussion. Develop skills such as building an argument, using evidence, using persuasive language and rhetorical techniques, comparison and contrast in discussion, opinionative and factual writing.

Maths Revision & Headstart on Key Topics

Get a headstart in Year 8 Maths by revising key Maths concepts and learning new Maths topics and skills. Our highly popular program ensures maximum skills development.

Leadership & Public Speaking Skills

Discuss and examine a full range of speaking tasks that will assist you to gain confidence in leadership and public speaking as well as developing a strong understanding and effective command of the skills needed to master each and every task.

Topics discussed include:

  • Dramatic Speaking – Interpreting and understanding elements of theatrical drama
  • Register and Effective Speaking –  Developing an understanding of different registers and context of their use
  • Confidence in Using Language and the Voice – Understanding and learning to apply important elements of public speaking
  • Public Speaking and Lecturettes – Expanding knowledge of various forms of public speaking
  • Impromptu Speaking and Debate Skills – Developing impromptu speaking and debating techniques
